LEADERSHIP IS A LIFESTYLE!!
Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) is an activity based program designed to teach and refine skills needed to grow servant leaders in the Church. LTC works within the local congregations existing program. LTC is open to young people from grades 3 - 12 as participants. In order to involve this many young people naturally you need adult / parent volunteers. This helps to strengthen the youth program and provide examples and mentors for these young people. Getting our young people involved in teaching and worship skills early will help them to become better servants as they mature. How many times have you shied away from offering public prayer, reading the scripture (In service or in Class), teaching a Bible Class because you did not have the confidence, training or were just too frightened to get up in front of a crowd? By getting our young people involved early they gain these skills, and overcome these fears and have fun doing it. We want each person to reach inside of themselves, find the talents God has given them, and use them for His glory. The different events at LTC work to strengthen the skills of an individual. Several events also build social skills and team spirit within the youth group. These skills help the young people to participate in sharing the message of our Lord through Mission Trips, Vacation Bible School and in their daily lives. As individuals wait their turn to present their skills at convention, they observe and learn from the skills of others. They see what their peers have accomplished and strive to better hone their own skills. The theme for 2006 was "Take the Lead - The Books of Judges, Joshua, and Ruth" and our participants headed for for Houston, Texas, on April 14-15, 2006. Our participants did a fabulous job! The theme for 2007 was "Unstoppable" out of the Book of Acts. Our kids went to convention on April 6-7, 2007, in Houston and did a great job! Take a look at the pictures to see what a great time the kids had at LTC 2007! The LTC convention was held on March 21-22 during 2008 and the theme was out of 1 Samuel and is "Here I Am". Our kids did very well during convention and had a great time doing it. Here are a few pictures that were taken while we were at convention! LTC in 2009 took place on April 10 and 11 during 2009 in Houston and the theme was "Light - Life - Word" and was out of the Book of John. Our kids did a great job. Many pictures were taken and they have been included in a couple of Facebook albums. Check out Album 1 and Album 2 to see the pictures! This year, the theme is "The Rock" and will be out of the book of 2 Samuel. More information can be found at the official Central Texas LTC web site!
